Dust Hazard Analysis If your facility stores, handles or processes combustible materials, NFPA 652 requires a Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA) to be completed and documented into a final report. Fike offers DHA services to ensure the safety of your employees and the financial protection of your business. 1.Identifying Your Hazards A walkthrough of your facility and review of process flow diagrams to understand how combustible material is conveyed, where dust clouds develop and where ignition sources may exist. 2.Analyzing Your Dust Identifies where in your process dust is being introduced or emitted and reviews the documented explosibility of such dust; if necessary, dust testing is performed. 3.Reviewing Your Safeguards Evaluates your safety systems and processes to ensure they are compliant and effective; housekeeping and cleaning efforts are reviewed to reduce the risk of secondary explosions. 4.Prioritizing Recommendations An action plan is developed to prioritize the areas of the process which should be addressed immediately, based on the likelihood of a hazard occurring and the severity of its consequences.
