Installation guideline Explosion Isolation Valve VENTEX® ESI

The VENTEX® ESI is a passive explosion isolation valve designed to block the propagation of shock waves and flames in dust and gas pipelines. It withstands maximum explosion overpressures ((P_{EX})) of up to 10 to 14 barg depending on the model and nominal diameter. Maximum Explosion Pressure: The valve body handles explosion pressures up to 10-14 bar (lower for sizes like DN 700). Activation Pressure: Requires a minimum differential pressure of 0.05 bar (up to 0.2 bar for certain larger sizes) to actuate the closing mechanism (e.g., floating ball or flap). Vent/Suppression Threshold: If connected to a vessel protected by explosion venting or suppression, the static activation pressure ((P_{stat})) should be at least 0.2 bar. Pressure Resistance Rating: Most VENTEX ESI models feature a pressure shock resistance rating between 13 barg and 56.7 barg, ensuring the valve remains structurally intact during the explosion.
