ValvexTM Passive Explosion Isolation Valve :
The ValvEx™ Passive Explosion Isolation Valve is a passive explosion protection device developed by Fike for combustible dust handling systems. Its purpose is to stop an explosion from propagating through interconnected ductwork, pipelines, or conveying systems, thereby protecting adjacent equipment and reducing the risk of secondary explosions.
The valve operates without electronic sensors or external power.
During normal operation, the process airflow keeps the internal flap (or gate) open.
If an explosion occurs in the protected vessel (such as a dust collector), the explosion creates a reverse pressure wave.
This reverse flow forces the flap to close rapidly against its seal.
The closed valve blocks the transmission of flame and explosion pressure into upstream equipment.
Main features
1.Passive operation (no explosion detection system required)
2.Self-resetting after inspection and safe return to service
3.Low pressure drop during normal operation.
Optional accessories
Some versions are available with:
1.Automatic air-pulse cleaning
2.Dust layer accumulation sensor
3.Proximity switch for flap position monitoring
4.Intrinsically safe monitoring components for hazardous areas.
